TRIP 2009 and RTD Ads mentioning 50% discount
TRIP users have been calling to ask about the new RTD ads on the light rail lines. The ads show the new RTD prices for 2009. These ads refer to a 50% discount this is NOT the TRIP discount. We believe the ad is referencing RTD's discounted fares, which apply to all seniors 65+, individuals with disabilities, Medicare recipients and students in elementary, middle and high school, ages 6-19. Provide proof of eligibility when boarding. For seniors or individuals with disabilites, a Special Discount Card may be obtained by calling 303.299.2667.

TRIP To Work: RTD Service Interruptions
RTD Light Rail service will be temporarily interrupted between the Convention Center/Performing Arts and 18th/California Stations during downtown fireworks
Service interruption Wednesday, December 31 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.; RTD FREE MallRide will also experience service interruptions
Denver – The Regional Transportation District (RTD) normal weekend light rail service on the segment of light rail between the Convention Center/Performing Arts and 18th/California Stations Light Rail stations, and the 16th Street FREE MallRide, will experience temporary service interruptions due to the two fireworks shows on New Year’s Eve in downtown Denver. The service only on that segment of the light rail lines and the MallRide will temporarily suspend operation on Wednesday, December 31, from 8 p.m. to approximately 1 a.m. on January 1, 2009.
The D Line will continue to operate from the 18th/California to the 30th/Downing Light Rail Stations, and between the Convention Center/Performing Arts Station and the Mineral Station. The F and H lines will continue to run between the Convention Center/Performing Arts Station and Lincoln Station. The C and E Line light rail service will continue running and will not be affected.
Signs will be posted at all affected stations and in all Light Rail vehicles to alert passengers of the upcoming temporary service interruption, and RTD personnel will be on hand during the service interruption periods to provide information.

This year, RTD has partnered with CDOT and MillerCoors to make sure everyone has a safe holiday. Plan your New Year’s Eve trip ahead of time by visiting RTD-Denver.com or CDOT’s PlanAheadColorado.com for details on taxi vouchers.
The transit agency has offered this free fare program for the past eighteen years to encourage celebrants and non-celebrants alike to use a safer, more reliable mode of transportation rather than driving their own cars. Note that RTD is not offering more service or additional routes, but all of the regularly scheduled service will be free of charge.
All regularly scheduled bus and light rail service will operate on a normal weekday schedule on New Year’s Eve, Wednesday December 31 and will be free from 7:00 p.m. until 6 a.m. on New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1, 2008. Service will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on New Year’s Day, and a normal weekday schedule the following day.
